Hello, I have three mimosa trees blooming. I want to experiment with some flowers as I work with a lot of children. I would also like your opinion about using the flower tincture in pregnancy. I already can use the flower essence in cases of depression and grief in pregnancy, but would prefer using the tincture in formula - I just cannot find much on its effectiveness. Sure has a wonderful smell. Do you have any information on the flower tincture effectiveness? I would also like to harvest some bark this year. I understand about using younger branches. Should I be collecting bark from new growth or perhaps last year's branches? I cannot determine whether to collect outer or inner bark? Materia medica states 30% ETOH with 10% glycerine. Is that for both flower and bark? Thank you in advance for any information.

David said: We discussed the flowers in class, check out your MM sheet. They have similar effects to the bark, but much, much milder. I use the flowers with Lemon Balm for children who are depressed. There is no safety data for pregnancy. You do not want new growth, you want branches that are at least an inch and a half to 2 “ diameter. At that point the bark is therbark I doubt you could separate inner form outer and it is not necessary. You do not need glycerin for the flower tincture, e/w same alcohol %.
