Hello David, The daughter of a friend of mine was recently discovered to have cavernous malformations in her brain. One of the small clusters of blood vessels erupted on the left side and she spent 2 weeks in the hospital with 7 days in the ICU. It's been about 6 weeks since she's been out of the hospital and she suffers with memory issues, severe headaches, seizures, severe weakness in limbs on the left side, and vision impaired on the left side. She also says that the head pain is a 3 on the pain scale and constant (dull and constrictive), a 7 on the pain scale when not on medicine. She currently takes Gabapentin 4x/day, Tylenol 1000mg 3x/day, and Fioricet as needed. Her desire is to stop taking the pharmaceuticals as soon as she can and is wondering if there are herbs or supplements that could help with the head pain and recovering cognitive function. Any suggestions are much appreciated, thank you.

David said: Yes I think so, but they may be problematic taken with the Gabapentin. First I would consider a combination of SJW, standardized Ginkgo, Horse Chestnut, Gastrodia/Tian Ma, White Peony, Chuan Xiong, Sun Zao Ren, Chinese Polygala, Skullcap or Corydalis.
