With respect to our class discussion on what the research has shown in the last 10 years for decreased absorption of coadministered herbs/drugs, I wanted to know if you feel there is any clinical role for using Cayenne as part of an herbal formula that would be taken internally still (my assumption is topically its role wouldn't change)? Or is it pretty much always best to use an alternative now? Are there any significant ways for which you don't think Prickly Ash would be a reasonable alternative in most situations?

Cayenne reduces gastric HCl and so can reduce absorption. Prickly Ash enhances absorption.
