Dear David, So wonderful to be in your class again! What is your opinion on freezing dried herbs (in vacuum bags) - is it a viable option for increasing shelf life? What about freeze-dried herbs? Many thanks, Betina

Are you actually talking about real freeze-drying or something else ? There is one company in the US that makes freeze-dried herbs such as Skullcap and it retains it’s activity that is mostly lost by normal drying. They are available in capsule form. I didn’t to think you could do real freeze drying at home. And it is good to have you back !

Hi David, I was curious about both - actually freeze-drying (not doable at home) - thank you for the Skullcap note. AND freezing dried herbs at home in the feezer - for tincturing them later. Is that an option? Many thanks, Betina

Freezers are bad places for dried herbs, you want dark, cool and dry, freezers are actually quite moist.
