My sister had fraternal twins 14 months ago. During the scheduled C-Section something happened and it turned into an emergency C-section. She tanked on the table and the doctors aren't sure why. I suspect a combination of the anesthesia lowering her BP and the twins sitting on her vena cava, but that is my theory. The twins went without oxygen for 4 minutes. APGARS at 1 minute were 1, 5 minutes were 2/3 and at 10 minutes were 4/5. My nephew was baby A and my niece was baby B. He was in the NICU for 2.5 weeks and required ventilation and a feeding tube. She was in the NICU for about 8-9 days and just required pressured oxygen but no ventilation. Both babies are behind but doing better. They both have some hypersensitivities and the doctors wanted to put my niece on gabapentin at age 4 months (mom didn't let them) because she was sensitive and having sleeping difficulties. She is much better now. They both have exaggerated startle to a certain degree. They both have some food sensitivities (both parents do as well). My nephew has significant sleeping issues. He only naps for 30minutes to an hour if we are lucky and he doesn't sleep through the night. He will cry out, typically about the same time every night, about midnight and then again around 3am very distressed but he is still asleep. He cannot be comforted. Throughout the rest of the night he is a very restless sleeper. At times I have wondered about apnea because he looks like he is holding his breath when he is sleeping. He is waiting for his appt with pediatric neurology in Sept and is awaiting an appt with a sleep specialist. They have a developmental pediatrician and a physical therapist that has given them activities to do in the home. I have ordered a probiotic for them both to help GI tract. I was thinking the oat glycerite would be beneficial for both of them to help decrease their hypersensitivity but am unsure how to dose it or if I even can give it at this age. They eat really well (healthy foods) and love blueberries so in the off season I thought the blueberry solid extract would also be helpful for them as well. Could I do sometime like Tulsi for my nephew as a weak tea? Do you have any other thoughts or suggestions? I know you don't see them but any direction helps. Thanks, Rachel

Sorry for the typo. It should read something like Tulsi, but I cannot edit. It keeps kicking me out.

I am sorry to hear about the challenges your sister and her children have and are experiencing. It is a very complicated case and I am reluctant to make any suggestions. At fourteen months I would say that with glycerites I would follow the recommendations for honey (not recommended under 2 years of age). Blueberry solid extract should be safe, but is sour, they might not like it. A blueberry syrup might be nice or the Goji berry/Pomegranate solid extract.
