Deep Splinter

Hi David, My eldest son is an electrical apprentice and just got a deep wood splinter in the outside of his palm that broke off leaving a tiny piece of wood inside his flesh. I've made a hot compress of mullein leaf (its fresh from my garden) to try overnight and I guess Plantain would work nicely too. What has worked well in your experience for deep splinters? For drawing poultices I use green clay, mixed Plantain, it can work, but is usually slow if it is very deep.
