Hey David, a good friend just got in a severe car accident and fractured L2. Naturally he’s in a ridiculous amount of pain. Unfortunately he doesn’t tolerate opiates well at all and wants to try some herbs for the pain. I’ve got a list going of what I was thinking but thought I’d see what your thoughts were? Obviously i don’t expect anything to give him 100% relief here but. What would you use?

Assuming he is not on any contradictory meds, I would use 2 p SJW, 2 p Corydalis, 1 p Jamaica Dogwood, 1 p Indian Pipe and 1 p Bai Zhi

Thank you David. Quick follow up, is there any alternative to Bai Zhi? I don’t have that on hand and can’t seem to find a reliable source for a tincture of it. Perhaps some other kind of blood moving remedy to warm up the joints? Would ginger or prickly ash cut it? Just trying to brainstorm some kind of analogue. Thanks!
