My original question tonight in class concerned a statement in our current materia medica that says ground ivy can be used for insufficient bile flow. Is there any reason NOT to give it to someone whose gallbladder ultrasound showed no stones, but 3 HIDA (hepatobiliary iminodiacetic acid) scans found gallbladder ejection fractions as follows: 0.0%, 22.1%, and 0.0%, indicating that the gallbladder is only working sporadically in its ability to release concentrated bile into the bile duct. A normal ejection fraction is above 35%. What is the likelihood that ground ivy can improve the amount of bile released into the bile duct? Or, in this situation, is it unlikely to be of help? Can horehound work synergistically with ground ivy to stimulate normal gallbladder function? Thank you.

I think it could be worth trying although other herbs such as Artichoke leaf, Gentian, would probably be my first choices here.
