Hello, My question is for David in reference to when you talked about Lyme disease. My brother-in-law was diagnosed this week with it after seeing the doctor for a rash. Before the lab results were even back, the bullseye developed and they started him on doxycycline. They prescribed him a two week course, but if I remember correctly, did you say that it’s better to request three weeks of the meds if possible? Also is there any other pertinent info I should pass on for early intervention? Right now, besides the rash, the only other symptom is fatigue. He is also diabetic. Any insight is appreciated, thank you!

I prefer using Doxy for 3-4 weeks, I think that is more effective, although 2 weeks may work fine, since he caught it early. Take Saccharomyces boulardii (a probiotic yeast that is not affected by antibiotics - I use a product called Florastor), The antibiotic should resolve the infection.

David, how long do you recommend taking Florastor once done taking the Doxy? Do you have another preferred probiotic that should be switched to?

I would take the Saccharomyces boulardii for another 2 weeks after finishing the antibiotic and then go back to whatever probiotics supplements or foods you usually take.
