Hello - I live in Pennsylvania, the ticks have been really bad here this year. I ended up with the worst tick-borne infection that I’ve ever experienced. I was basically incapacitated for almost 2 weeks. I don’t think I’ve ever slept so much of my life. Once I was able to get a diagnosis and get on some doxycycline, I started feeling better within 3 to 4 days. I’m taking the the full three weeks cycle. I’m wondering what protocol you recommend moving forward. Thank you!

If caught early doxycycline kills Borrelia, Erlichia, and many other pathogens carried by ticks. I prefer 4 weeks of Doxy but 3 weeks should be good. While taking the antibiotics I have people take the probiotic yeast Saccharomyces boulardii which helps prevent antibiotic- induced C. diff and other GI problems. Afterward continue this and add a more broad spectrum probiotic. Beyond that there is not much else usually needed, I will say elevating body temperature to 101.5 degrees for 10-15 minutes per day (sauna, hot tub) while on antibiotics helps them to work better and more completely.

Thank you! I truly hope that 3 weeks was long enough, I can't imagine having to go through that again. The pain was unimaginable. I just finished the antibiotic, but I also just got a portable sauna (think grow tent with steam). Would it still be beneficial to steam daily or is that really best for when taking the antibiotic?

Mostly when taking the antibiotic, but if you like doing a sauna, a few times per week for 10-15 minutes is fine.
