Hello! I have a personal question. I had a glass gallon jug break and the bottom of it fell thru my foot. It created a pretty deep 1 inch wide gash in my big toe and I needed to go to the ER to get it sutured. It has healed great, but in discussions and observations with a family orthopedic surgeon, we believe that my EHL is lacerated because, as swelling has gone down, I have very limited vertical extension of my large toe now. I am aware that there is some sense of urgency to repair this, but unfortunately the conventional medicine system at Penn is not very helpful in prioritizing appointments without registered ICDs from a physician within their network so they are pushing me out to almost August before even seeing a PA and won't let me see a surgeon until Ive gone through their chain of command of doctors and assistants. So in the mean time, what can I work with as far as herbs to try to support this and encourage healing until I am able to get this appointment. The funny thing is I have no pain in it at all. I did some acupuncture and Moxa and couldn't feel a few of the acupuncture points. So far Ive been putting comfrey oil on it and doing some comfy and ginger foot soaks. any recommendations would be much appreciated.
