Hawthorn Solid Extract for an 8 year old child?

Dear David, Would Hawthorn Solid Extract be appropriate for an 8 years old girl with a heart murmur caused by a tiny "pin hole size" atrial septal defect? If yes, would the dosage be 1/2 the adult dose for the child who weighs 42 pounds? Thank you for any advice. Sincerely, Rhonda K.

Hawthorn Solid extract is fine, but I am not sure it will help the atrial septal defect, and no Hawthorn solid extract is food, you do not need to drop the dose.
