This question can be for David and/or Wendy, since they both may have different answers and helpful input. I have a sebaceous cyst on my groin muscle from an ingrown hair that is not inflamed nor infected. I went to the dermatologist and she recommended I take antibiotics for 10 days (Dicyclomine) and use a prescription topical. She advised me she would not be able to remove the cyst due to the area it is in and that I will need to see a plastic surgeon. Something doesn't sit right with me and I am in no rush to take antibiotics or get plastic surgery. Do you have any recommendations for naturally treating this type of cyst? Can these go away on their own? There is only pain when I move the wrong way and/or if my underwear or pants rub against it.

Unfortunately herbs do not work well for cysts, as they are poorly vascularized. The best thing I have seen is Castor oil poultices which work about half the time, internally you could try Self Heal, Cleavers, Ocotillo and Red Clover, but this only works occasionally and takes a long time (4-6 months minimum).

Wendy said: warm compresses to the area once or twice a day plus homeopathic calendula cream or gel
