Hi David- Is the Elecampane (Inula helenium) that you use the same or similar in use as Xuan Fu Hua (Inulae Flos)? I use Xuan fu Hua often for cough/downward bearing and sometimes in pregnancy to return the yang to its source. Wondering if it's the same herb in Western herbalism? David said: They are closely related but in TCM the flowers of Inula britanica or I. Japonica are used, in western medicine the root of Inula helenium is used.
