Hello, I have a question. A dog I know (a big greyhound, not mine) has an open wound, about 6 cm (the skin was ripped off, but the rest is intact, it didn`t go really deep). The dog was taken to the vet and got stitches, but unfortunately he licked them and destroyed the stitches. The vet says he cannot redo them, so, it must heal on its own. My question is, is there any way to help a literally open wound heal? (Would lavender essential oil applied on the edges, on top of healthy skin would do any good?). Thank you so much :)

David said: Manuka honey is one option, the challenge with dogs and cats what ever you put on it they will lick off, which is why lavender EO is a problem, a tiny amount is ok to ingest but repeated applications will increase ingestion.
