My mom just had a total hysterectomy surgery two days ago and is experiencing constipation and sharp gas pains. I know this is normal post-surgery especially considering the carbon dioxide used during the 3 hours surgery. So far we have tried psyllium husk in her juice but she stopped taking it because she felt the pain increase. I am also thinking about giving her bitters which have carminatives. The doctor prescribed Simethicone which she has taken once. Do you have any recommendations of herbs she can take to help reduce the gas and bloating and normalize GI functioning? Thank you, Jen

David said: Yes, A combination of Catnip, Wild Yam and Fennel seed should be useful. you could also use Cyperus if you have it.
