The question on the quiz asked whether true salt and mineral salt share properties and I answered yes but it was marked incorrect. When I checked the 10 tastes it indicates they both tonify the Chinese kidney and bladder; softens hardnesses, strengthens teeth, bones, hair, and nails. They are both described as cool/dry and cool/slightly dry or neutral. I understand that sodium chloride can cause adverse events whereas that's unlikely for mineral salt but needed clarification. Saying they share properties doesn't mean they're the same. Thank you.

David said: They share some qualities but not as much as you mention. Mineral salt herbs affect the lymphatics, are much more mineral rich, do not contain much if any sodium, so do not increase BP or contribute to auto-immune disease. There are few true salt herbs beyond a few very salty seaweeds and glasswort, there are many mineral salt herbs. Only the herbs with iodine soften goiters, while the mineral salt herbs reduce lymphatic swelling.
