Hello, this is more of a personal question, but herb related nonetheless! In May of '23 I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, and I immediately researched natural and herbal tools to help.. Among many other things, I found multiple blind placebo studies showing the benefits of Sweet Wormwood. I decided last September to add it to my daily protocol, and have been using it almost daily for about a year. The brand I take (Solaray) is therjune free. I of course read a lot about warnings for long term use, but am also afraid my Crohn's symptoms will return if I stop taking it. Curious your thoughts on long term use, and/or potential long term benefits from short term use? Also hoping I am ok since it has been so long...haha. Any insight would be so appreciated! It is very difficult finding people that have any knowledge of this.

I am a little confused, the studies I am familiar with using an Artemisia for Crohn’s are with Wormwood (Artemisia absinthifolia) , not sweet wormwood (Artemisia annua) . Perhaps you are confusing the common names ? If Wormwood is Thujone-free, there is no toxicity issue. But just using Wormwood as s simple, is not likely to have that significant a healing effect (if it has that is great). It would make more sense to use it as a small part of a larger formula specific to your needs.

I can't believe I've had the herb wrong this entire time!! Wow, now I can't wait to see the results I find with taking the right one ;). Ok I see, that makes so much sense. Do you offer custom tinctures, or have someone you would recommend working with to create a blend? I have been searching for a practitioner to create a protocol with since being diagnosed. Thanks so much.

I do not make tinctures except as needed for my patients who cannot get an ingredient elsewhere, H & A does , but they do not do custom formulas. I recommend Kerry Adams
