I don't see tinctures of the wild cherry fruit and pit. Would it be possible to degrade the cyanogenic compounds if you made a hot ethanolic extract?

Hot ethanol extracts are very dangerous unless you use a soxhlet extractor (hot alcohol like to go boom), I would not make a cherry fruit tincture and the seed offers nothing the bark doesn’t .

I am experienced with using soxhlet extractors, and I understand that the bark is the preferable part of the plant to use. My question is :would the heat be enough to degrade the cyanogenic compounds from the wild cherry pits in a hot hydroethanolic extract?

Soxhlet extractors keep alcohol at a relative low temperature, I am not sure how much it will break down the cyanogenic compounds. But you also need a low level of these compounds, they are what makes it work. A traditional laceration of the dried bark in room temperature water for 4-6 hours, then adding alcohol works very well.
