Hello, David!
I recently finished reading your Adaptogens book, which I found truly excellent.
I am curious as to whether it is possible to improve an individual's response to an excess immune condition, such as to an aspirin sensitivity, both systemically and topically, through the use of adaptogens? The individual experiences stomach pain with orally-administered aspirin, and moderate skin sensitivity to any products and treatments with salicylic acid in the clinical esthetic setting.
Thank you for your time.
Some adaptogens are also immune amphoterics (herbs that re-regulate a disordered immune response), and can be used to treat allergic hypersensitivity. Unfortunately I do not believe they would be of benefit for people with salicylate sensitivity.
Hi David.
What are some of your go to immune amphoterics?
I am thinking about me and my daughter's rhinitis triggered by dust and possibly some other airborne particles in the fall. We have had positive experiences with taking querccetin and bromelain and cutting sugar and dairy but wondering what herbs to experiment with too. I have tried nettle tea which seems to alleviate it a bit but not sure. Thank you!
Immune amphoterics include American and Asian Ginseng, Ashwagandha, Astragalus, Maitake, Reishi mushroom, Licorice, Holy Basil, Schisandra, Cat’s Claw, possibly Chaga
