Hi David,
A friend of mine has been prescribed by a German naturopath to make a nourishing, warming tea simmering powdered ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, liquorish and asian ginseng, and adding it to her black tea in the morning. From my (humble) herbal knowledge I think the herb choice is very good. However, I have a gut feeling which makes me sceptical about mixing the valuable (and excessively expensive) Panax ginseng with black tea or green tea due to the tannins. It is just a gut feeling and I did not find any information confirming it, so I wanted to run this by you.
Thank you so much for your help.
PS: The person is 47 and very much liver qi stagnant, liver blood and spleen yang deficient (or in Western terms c/c is terrible fatigue (adrenal depletion deducted from her high and low energy times), slow metabolism, circulation issue to the extremities, since childhood cold hands and feet and the type of person always wearing 5 sweaters and 2 pairs of socks)
