Astragalus for acute conditions

I have come across some formulas for COVID 19 that includes astragalus. What is your opinion on giving astragalus during active infections since it is traditionally used for prevention?

I would use Astragalus as part of the formula Jade Windscreen to help prevent COVID, but would not use use it for someone with an acute infection unless it was specifically indicated with a a dry, cold lung pattern.
