The very idea of double fertilization of angiosperms blows my mind. How is this miracle possible?

Please allow me to re-phrase the question: What is the process by which double fertilization occurs in angiosperms? Shanah Tovah!

He said: Is the question "what is double fertilization?" or something else? If "what is..." that is pretty easy to look up even on Wikipedia and read about. It is in a nutshell the production of two sperm cells by a pollen grain, one that fertilizes the egg, and the other that merges with other "female" cells in the ovary to form an endosperm that serves a nutritional purpose to feed the embryo (i.e. seed). I could go into more detail but again this is pretty readily available to study more rather than me typing up stuff that can be found and studied. To dig deeper, you would want to look into alternation of generations, and along with that, gametophyte and spermatophyte generations in plant sexual reproduction, which is fascinating and will help you understand in a deeper and more detailed way how plant sexual reproduction occurs. But I am not sure if that is the question or not. I highly recommend the book Botany for Gardeners for understanding plant physiology!
