Hello David. I was wondering how long the medicinal quality shelf life is of dried calendula and arnica flowers. I still have a few bags from several years ago that have been sealed in a cool dark location. Thank you in advance.
Calendula if stored properly in sealed glass jars, in a cool, dry area can last several years. I only use Arnica flowers fresh, they lose activity quickly once dried.
Hi David.
An inquiry to your response to Janice; Since you mentioned Arnica flowers lose activity quickly once dried, I was planning to purchase Arnica flowers from Mountain Rose Herbs to make an infused oil for a salve. I'm curious if this means the dried Arnica that arrives would be less efficient for my salve?
Thank you!
I do not use dried arnica flowers, I do not think they have much if any activity.
