Hello! Just reviewing your slides....and looking at the slide with the monoecious sweet gum tree- just looking at the way the inflorescences are arranged it just seems so much more likely that the tree would self pollinate- by accident? On purpose?- instead of being wind dispersed. Is there a way to tell which is happening? Or is there a way the female flower won't let a pollen grain from its' own tree become sperm and travel down the pollen tube? Just curious.
Thanks!
Jessa
