I am curious about the contraindications for Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica), especially regarding taking it with heart medications following a heart attack. Also, is it an herb that can be taken long-term?

Yes it can be taken long term and what authority says it is CI with heart meds ? and what heart meds ? The Botanical Safety Handbook (the most authoritative resource on herb safely and herb/drug interactions) says it is Safety class 1 (very safe) and interaction class A (no known clinically signifiant interactions). The herbs does have some diuretic effects so I suppose it is possible that is what they would say to avoid taking it with heart meds, but I think that is an overreaction.
