Mai Men Dong -- tincture availability

Hi David, In going over the "On the Board" triunes last week (for LO), I questioned Mai Men Dong in one of the formulas because in my notes I wrote that Mai Men Dong is not widely available in tincture form. When we went over it, you said there was nothing wrong with Mai Men Dong. Did I write this down wrong? I had that because it is not widely available we shouldn't use it in a triune formula. Thank you. Donna

Sorry...I just listened to the class again and missed this same question asked on Tuesday night by Michael. In your answer, you said that you make your own. Do you grow it in your garden here (I see that it is native to Asia so wondering how you source it). And can you explain how to make the tincture? You said it's not straightforward... you have to "cook it and stuff" and I don't see reference to that on the MM sheet. Thanks very much.

I get the dried herb from China, I tincture it myself. It can be made as a simple tincture, but is better if decocted first, then cooled and then add the ETOH
