What do you think about marshmallow root (Althea officinalis) cold water macerate accompanying chemotherapy to reduce side effects? As a demulcent and as a mild diuretic to get rid of the toxins of the chemotherapy? Since I understand marshmallow is a cooling herb, would you recommend it in chemotherapy (or radiation therapy) regardless of the energetics of the person (considering the cancer itself, the chemotherapy or radiation as the hot condition to be cleared by it)? Thank you.

The energetic sore not important here, while Marshmallow is a demulcent and mild diuretic, the only adverse effects it is likely to be useful for would be preventing radiation- or chemotherapy induced mucositis or gastritis. I do not think it will be of any benefit for other chemotherapy induced adverse effects. Nor will it effectively get rid of “toxins”
