It was said that herbs like slippery elm, marshmallow and other mucilage containing herbs are best taken as cold infusions. Is there a benefit in taking them as capsules that contain the dry herbs?
What benefits do the alcohol extracts have, considering that mucilage precipitates in alcohol?
Thank you
These herbs do not work very well taken as a capsule. Most of these herbs do not make effective tinctures, Marshmallow is an exception, it makes an ok tincture, but the tea is still better. Slippery Elm is totally ineffective as a tincture.
