Hello again Wendy, For someone who has already been getting injections for osteoporosis for years (5-10, she couldn't remember), would you still consider Osteoherb or other bone-building herbs at the same time or to possibly ween them off? Their numbers have increased to osteopenia range but I'm afraid this is because of the scenario you mentioned tonight that has to do with the bone not regenerating anymore as a result of the Prolia. The person I am thinking of just turned 80 and is active but does break bones easily. I also don't believe that any conventional doctor will take anyone off of Prolia once they start so am interested in hearing whether this is something you might do or maybe have done in the right situation. Thank you!! Loved your classes so much. Hoping you come back for more soon :) The medicine/herb balance was perfect. Donna Sheinbach

Wendy said: Prolia: this is the one infusion that actually is the better option; the bone it makes is stronger and more appropriate than what gets made from the bisphosphanate drugs. So, if she stays on this one, it wouldn't be horrible. However, be sure she has adequate vitamin D levels (50-80) and consider having her take nutritive herbs. She might also benefit from normalizing blood sugar and stress hormones (though I doubt her conventional docs have even checked those). Adding in Osteoherb would always be helpful here. And yes, I've weaned folks off meds and onto herbs/ supplements all the time!
