it depends on the medication. Sometimes people want to go off a medication that is essential and it is imperative they stay on the medication. As an herbalist it is not my place to suggest someone stop taking a medication or help them get off it. I recommend they speak with their physician who prescribed the mediation in the first place. If you want to piss off a doctor and get reported to your state medical board, the way to do it is to take someone off a medication that their physician prescribed. Once they speak with the doctor, they may be prescribed a new medication or taken off the drug. Then I can help them with herbs, supplements, diet , etc, to possibly create a situation where they no longer need a medication. at all. It is incredibly important for a practitioner to know their limitations both personally and scope of practice. Going beyond that can create a real risk for your patients and for you.
