David, you mentioned that this formula is the best you have found for people with vertigo, dizziness. Do you have a recommended brand? How would one take it for occasional vertigo?

I said Tian Ma, the herb Gastrodia, is the best herb I know of for tinnitus and dizziness. You certainly could use that formula but I usually make a custom formula based on the specifics of the case and person. I would recommend you get it from one of the American manufacturers, something like Kan Traditionals.

Thank you David. With a concrete example -- a family member of mine has cerebellar ataxia (genetic, not acquired) and has a terrible time with recurring spells of dizziness during allergy season. Would she want to be on Gastrodia throughout the allergy season (as part of a formula that aims to balance her immune system) or just whenever she gets the spells?

Unfortunately it is much more complicated than that. All I know is that the person has genetic cerebellar ataxia and it is worse during allergy season. It is possible that Tian Ma Gou Teng might help, but I cannot say for certain because I really know nothing of the person (constitution, energetics, diagnostics, systems review, co-morbidities, etc, etc, etc. (and I am not asking for that information, I cannot do case histories in ask the professor). So if it is appropriate, and I cannot say whether it is or isn’t, it would be taken throughout allergy season, it does not work very well if taken acutely. I would have them see a clinician get an actual protocol
