Hi David,
Are you aware of any place (on the web) or directory where the USDA zones are listed for many medicinal herbs all in one place? I wanted to gift some plants and/or seeds but found out that I am in zone 7b/8a and my friend is in zone 10. Now I am not sure if the plants would grow there and want to look up which ones would suit her climate.
I know that Strictly Medicinal lists the USDA zones, but I wondered if there was one single place to look that up for the different herbs to make life easier.
Also, so far I was only confronted with growing Mediterranean herbs in our cooler climate. But then, we simply bring them inside over the winter, water less, etc.
Now, - sorry, if this is a stupid question – what would you have to do with plants that thrive in a colder climate and the summers would be too warm for them? Bring them in in the summer or grow them in an air conditioned room during the whole year? Do you maybe even need to “warm stratify” (if such a thing exists :-) ?
Thank you,
Annette
