The cat of a friend was recently diagnosed with asthma. I'm curious if anyone here has had a cat with similar experiences, or who is a vet and has treated cats with asthma. Of course, the cat would need an individualized protocol, but I'm curious to hear of anyone else's experience with this!

Hi. My cat has asthma since a kitten when he had a high fever and was sick. He has been treated with an inhaler similar to the kind a human would use. He also Used steroid pills too during a flare up. He is a nervous type cat and stress can induce his asthma. I also got a Dyson vacuum to keep house cleaner since dust can be a factor. I keep house free of candles and scents. He seems to be outgrowing it and the addition of a three week old kitten last year who is brave has shown him a more peaceful side of life lol. I did look into TCM herbs for him but did not follow through with it. I believe there is a place in Florida that can work with you local vet. Also diet may help- Wet food can be more helpful in some cases. Good luck!
