Question on the BPH answer to the question in the Q & A

Did anyone else catch this herb? I have.... .....You don’t want a leaky Jing gate. Herbs like schizandra, Uralis (?) seed, Agrimony. Astringe and strengthen the tissue. Depending on the situation it can help- mild to moderate cases. Especially if there is neuropathic damage- diabetes and you can get a neuropathy of the nerves in the bladder- Unlikely to help. Trauma injury where there is nerve damage , they are unlikely to help.... I can't seem to find what seed he is talking about that sounded like Uralis. Anyone know? Thanks! Jessa

Good question. I re-watched the Q & A in Video 1 with David on September 22, 2020, when he discussed herbs for BPH as different from herbs for the bladder to "astringe the Jing." I also heard "Uralis seed" along with schisandra and agrimony. I'm not certain if Uralis seed is Urali kalu, an Indian pulse also called horse gram. We will need a follow up question to David to clear this up. --Rhonda

David answered this on 10-6-2020 during Q & A. David called it Euryales pharax ( sp?). I have been mis-spelling the name and can't find the plant listed in my standard texts. In contrast to herbs for BPH, David said to "astringe the Jing" he uses schisandra and agrimony the most. I did find Euryales Semen, qian shi, Nymphaeacae family, euryale seeds, also called Fox nut, listed in Chinese Herbal Medicine, Materia Medica, 3rd Edition, page 885. I think this is it: the seed "stabilizes the kidneys and secures the essence." I look forward to learning more about the Chinese herbs!

Once I key in "Fox nut," the internet churns out: Eurayle ferox. This must be what David was pronouncing and I wrote it as "pharax." Case closed?

OMG Thank you so much for that sleuthing, Rhonda! I was so happy it was asked during the Q and A but then he didn't spell it and I still couldn't figure it out for the life of me!
